Thailand's Environment

Introduction:

In Thailand, there are three main environments: the mountains, the coast and the flatter areas that are great for farming. All of these environments share similarities a warm and tropical climate. But they are different because different kinds of plants grow and the people in each environment live differently. For example, people who live in coastal regions close to the ocean eat a lot more fish than people who live in the mountains!

What makes this environment special or different?:

I think the diversity of the environment here is very special! In the mountains, there are waterfalls and jungles full of different plants. In the coastal towns, there is coral, shells and seagrasses always nearby. To me, everywhere was very special because there were so many things I was not used to seeing in my American life. For example, whenever I went hiking in Thailand, I was always so amazed by the plants in the jungle because I had never seen them before.

What parts of this environment help people to live here?:

The different areas of Thailand help people in different ways. In the flatter areas, the soil is very good to use for growing food. Thai people grow lots of food like rice, soy and different fruits and vegetables. In Thailand, I got to try a lot of fruits and vegetables that I had never had before, which was fun!
