For this journal entry, I have written an autobiography. That means I will tell you about my own life! I was born in Portland, Oregon, and now, I am 21 years old. I grew up in a small town called Hood River in Oregon. My mom is a librarian, and my dad is an electrician. I have a twin sister and several dogs. Growing up, I played soccer and did robotics. I also loved to hike, swim, and play in the beautiful outdoors.
Also, I always worked hard in school. In elementary school, my favorite subject was reading. When I got older, my favorite subject changed to science. I really like all areas of school because I like to learn new things. Now, I'm in college where I study computer science, math and environmental studies. Environmental studies has to do with the Earth and how people treat the environment. I go to college at Kalamazoo College, which is in Michigan. I've really enjoyed college because I've made new friends, learned a lot and tried new things like... visiting Thailand!
A big reason that I decided to go to Thailand is that I am studying environmental studies. My interest in this subject comes from growing up in Oregon surrounded by nature. I've gotten to see big, green trees, tall, snowy mountains and cold, clean rivers. When I was in these places, seeing trash and litter would make me sad.
