Being a Kid in China

What do you like to do after school? Do you have a favorite sport or game?:

Many of the students have to attend tutoring sessions after school that go from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, which doesn't leave much time for anything else. School starts getting more and more rigorous as the students prepare to test into high schools and then colleges. In their free time, some like to play basketball.

Who is your favorite famous person?:

A lot of the kids have said their favorite famous person is Taylor Swift!

What kinds of music do you listen to?:

Many listen to Chinese pop music and older Chinese songs that their parents like.

What would you like to be when you grow up?:

One kid said he is unsure of what he wants to be when he grows up but that he wants to study hard and work hard in order to make his parents proud.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?:

A few said they would like to go to France because they want to see the Eiffel Tower.

What do you know or think about the United States?:

They know that people in the United States are friendly and outgoing. They think that most places in the United States are clean.

What questions do you have for kids in the United States?:

Do kids in the United States start learning another language starting from elementary school?
