In Barcelona, I had the chance to try traditional cheeses from Cataluña (a region of Spain) and salchicas de chorizo, or spicy sausages. I tried these foods at a tapas restaurant in the heart of Barçelona. The word 'tapas' means small plates of food. However, 'tapas' originally comes from the Spanish word for 'lids' because people used to cover their food and drinks with very small plates to keep bugs away!
