I traveled over 1,000 miles to visit the country of Malta! It is a set of small islands located in the Mediterranean Sea. Malta is very close to Italy and is known for beautiful ocean views and unique Maltese culture.
The farthest I have traveled was when first coming to Madrid! When I arrived, I had come about 4,400 miles away from my home in St. Louis, Missouri.
This week, I used the Metro de Madrid (city train) to get around. This is typical and many Madrileños use the metro instead of cars. The metro is very easy, fast, clean, and goes so many places in the city!
I visited a few buildings and streets in an important historic part of the city known as the Distrito Centro with my class called Walking Madrid: History and Art. I got to see lots of different building styles and learn about how they were built along with the city. I also got to learn about Gran Vía, one of the most popular streets for shopping in Madrid.
