My best meal this week was my lunch at a local traditional restaurant. I've had lunch there the past three Sundays and it's always a slight variation of the same basic meal. We start with sancocho, one of the principal soups of Colombia. It is made many different ways, with meat and vegetables, like a stew. Then the always-joyful server brings us the main plate, which has a different meat every week served with rice, beans, mashed potatoes, salad and patacón (fried plantain in the shape of a pancake).This week’s meat was galantina de carne which is actually a mix of three different meats. That’s a triple win in my book. I can't wait for next Sunday!
