This week was actually special because it rained twice! Por fin (finally). Cali is known as "the land of eternal summer" due to its nearly constant heat. Locals have been anxiously awaiting their annual relief of the rainy season in September-October. Just when they started joking that perhaps it wouldn't come this year, we woke up one morning to a nice little rain shower that lasted the whole morning and I was reminded of that lovely post-rain scent.
This week I saw cows grazing in a field on my way to another part of Cali and iguanas on campus. I am also beyond pleased to report that I saw countless dogs in the city park when I went downtown!
