Singapore has four official languages: English, Malay, Singaporean Mandarin, and Tamil. Everyone I met in Singapore could speak English and/or Mandarin. I am fortunate to speak both languages because I had no problem getting around!
They use the Singapore Dollar. They use both paper bills and coins. It is very similar to the money used in the United States.
A bottle of water costs $2-3 Singapore Dollars. That is about $1.50-2.00 United States Dollars.
Singapore is known for food centers, also known as hawker markets. I went to one called the Newton Food Center that is famous for being in the movie Crazy Rich Asians. The best part about eating at a hawker market is that you can try many different things! I got two different kinds of juice (lychee and sugar apple), butter chicken, and garlic naan. Everything tasted so good! It was also much cheaper than most food in Singapore. The best part of this meal was where I got to eat it, though. I love experiencing unique eating experiences in new countries, like night markets or hawker food centers! (and Crazy Rich Asians is one of my favorite movies)
