A Reliable Way to Travel in Singapore

Introduction:

How do people usually get around in a big city? Singapore is not so different than you may think, especially since the people there take buses, trains, and subways to travel around. Being new to Singapore, I was uneasy about having to learn about a whole new system of public transportation. However, after spending time learning about the system and how it works, it turned out to be a fast and easy way to get around. Keep on reading to hear more about transportation in Singapore.

How do people get around?:

Similar to other cities, Singapore has a reliable transportation system set up in order to help its people get around if they do not have a car. In fact, the public transportation system is so dependable that many people choose not to drive a car in Singapore. All you need to do is fill up a transportation card with money and you are set to go. Conveniently, my student identification card also served as a transportation card! This made it easier for students like me to travel around Singapore either by bus, metro monorail, or subway.

If I wanted to travel somewhere quickly in Singapore I could always order myself a Grab. Grab in Singapore is the same as Uber here in the United States, except that it is a Singaporean-based app. Also, it is more common for people to get around by motorcycle and by bicycle than by car.
