I haven’t traveled anywhere this week, but the commute to school is about a 30-minute metro, or subway, ride from where I live!
In the past couple of months, I’ve been to Segovia, Toledo, Morocco and London! Segovia is where you can still see parts of the Roman aqueducts, Toledo is a small, rural town known for its mixture of Christian, Muslim and Jewish populations, Morocco is in Northern Africa, where mint tea is a big part of their culture, and London is where I got to see the Buckingham Palace!
I use the metro every day for school! I catch the first metro at a station near me, then I transfer to another line. I walk about five minutes to my school and go about my day! Sometimes, it’s faster to take the bus, like if I wanted to go to Retiro Park from where I live, but it would be slower if I took the bus to school. Did you know that Madrid has been called Spain’s most walkable city?
I went to a festival in Lavapies, Madrid, where they had more than 100 tapas restaurants come out for a weekend to sell their tapas. Tapas are shareable small plates of food served as snacks or even the main meal and are meant to be enjoyed with a lot of friends!
