I love trying new restaurants or just exploring the area around me! My friends and I went to eat at this place called Tiki Taco and an empanada shop after school. I also went to a Sheep Festival, where sheep from the fields or outskirts of Madrid travel through the city to get to the other side of the fields. This is to reenact the ancient migration of shepherds and their flock. I got to see cute sheep and saw cultural dances from other cities in Spain, like Leon and Sierra de Guadarrama.
I went to a libreria (book store) last week and got Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi! I’ve only read 15 pages of it, but it explores the question of what you would do if you could go back in time. It revolves around a coffee shop in Tokyo that gives its customers the chance to travel back in time, but they have to come back before the coffee gets cold.
I’m not the biggest sports person, I’ll admit! I do like to walk around Retiro Park in my free time or around my neighborhood to see what shops and restaurants are near me!
Halloween is coming up! I teach an English as a Second Language (ESL) class to the community near my school, so my next lesson plan is to go over Halloween! I want to cover common traditions, history and how October might be different in the U.S. than in Spain. Did you know that the Spanish abbreviation for the U.S. is EEUU (Los Estados Unidos)?
