Food in Trinidad

How did I feel when I tried it?:

I felt like I was back in the U.S. eating something that I was comfortable with. The chicken was just like the fried chicken I could get back in Savannah. Then I added the green pepper sauce, and it made it taste like something I had never had before! It gave it the Trinidadian flair that it needed! I felt like I was a local and I could relate to how others felt about KFC. However, I am not sure if it is really the best KFC in the world.

How is the food prepared?:

It was prepared much like it is at home. The only difference from what I have been told is that they add the herbs and spices that the Trinidadians eat as opposed to what we would season our chicken with in America. From what I could taste, it was pretty similar to what I have eaten back home.

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

The chicken they use are raised right near the university where I work; they are raised in Arawak. Also the spices they use to prepare the chicken are local to the area, which is what makes KFC so popular here.
