Living in Trinidad for the past four months has been both amazing and challenging. Learning the slang/hearing the accents, being away from my family and dog, and adjusting to a new pace of working are just some of the challenges I have faced. I've also met some wonderful people from my office, which has allowed me to explore more of Trinidad and learn about the culture here. I have really appreciated sharing my journey with you all because it has allowed me to reflect on the places I have been so far and the things I have seen while also thinking about the lessons I have learned from it all!

When I was in elementary school, I never thought I would be a scientist traveling the world and doing research. I always thought I would be a doctor or a professional soccer player, but my mind changed many times during my years of school and through being exposed to different cultures and countries. I hope you guys will continue to learn new things, be open to new ideas, and meet new people! If you keep an open mind, the world is yours.

Thank you for being a part of my adventure on the island, and I'm so excited for all to have your own adventures one day! As for now, I am going to finish my Christmas shopping and pack my suitcase because I am going home to Savannah for Christmas.
