These bins are typically emptied into big trucks that automatically dump their contents into the collector several times a week. This week, I saw one in action! After collection, the trucks load the garbage onto a boat on the Seine river. It’s much more efficient to put all of the garbage on a boat than to drive it in individual trucks.
