Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

This week, I walked from the Pantheon to the Philharmonie. We walked along the Seine and past people playing pétanque, a lawn game that you might know as bocce. For the game, two teams of two take throw metal balls the size of large apples at a small wooden ball, about the size of a ping pong ball. The team whose metal ball is closest to the small ball at the end of the round earns points.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

I've stayed within Paris for most of my journey, but I've started practicing hiking with my big backpack for a walking trip coming up in May. I'll be walking from Le Puy en Velay toward Spain with my family!

How did I get around this week?:

I took the metro and RER a few times. This Sunday, I walked to the Centre Pompidou, French the national modern art museum, from the Luxembourg Garden, which took about 30 minutes.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

I visited the Vasarely Sharing Forms exhibit in the Centre Pompidou this week. Vasarely's artwork is almost dizzying, with its vibrant colors and shapes. Who's your favorite artist?
