Our News

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The most fun activity this week was visiting a Barbie museum, yes, a real Barbie museum! We explored life-size dream houses, saw iconic Barbie dolls from different eras, and learned about Barbie's fascinating history. It was playful, nostalgic and surprisingly educational all at once!

What did I read this week?:

This week, I read a study on positive psychology that explored the concept of flow, developed by Nakamura and Csikszentmihalyi. It was fascinating to learn how being fully absorbed in an activity, whether studying, playing or creating, can make time feel like it flies by and increase overall happiness and satisfaction.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

This week, we went to the Albert Cuyp Market for a Dutch class activity. We played a fun market game where everyone was split into teams and given points for completing tasks. Each team had to practice Dutch greetings and order items in Dutch at the market.

The goal was to use our Dutch as much as possible while interacting with vendors. The team with the most points won a  prize!

Other news from this week:

This week, I’ve started using a few Dutch words to interact with locals whenever I go out. It’s been fun to practice the language in real situations, and people seem to appreciate the effort, it makes exploring Amsterdam feel even more immersive!
