Halloween in Spain

Why does the community have this tradition?:

While Halloween is becoming more and more popular among children, many adults do not like it here. They do not view Halloween as a part of their culture or history. They believe that the fun of the costumes and the thrill of candy are overpowering their own traditions. While the day of Halloween (October 31) is not a holiday in Spain, November 1 (Día de Todos los Santos or All Saints' Day) and November 2 (Día de los Difuntos or Day of the Dead) are national holidays. Many adults here think that Halloween is starting to overtake their traditional holidays.

Is this tradition connected to its environment? How?:

November 1 and 2 are important days in Spain. November 1 is All Saints' Day and November 2 is Spain's Day of the Dead. On these two days, families gather together to celebrate their saints and travel to the cemetery to remember loved ones who have passed away. It is time to be together with family. Family is very important in Spain, and most people will never move too far away from their families.
