Laya Says Hello!

Introduction:

He's a six year-old boy and has a one-year-old sister. While I was living with his family, Laya always called me "Tita Brooke" which is like "Aunt Brooke" in English. I found this habit very endearing. Below, I have recorded an interview I had with Laya.

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

Whatever my mom makes. We eat everything with rice.

What is your house like?:

Big. With lots of room to play. (I can provide more insight here. His house is open concept, meaning that there aren't a lot of interior walls, which is unusual for Filipino houses.)

What chores do you have at home?:

None!

What jobs do your parents have?:

They are both architects, and my mom makes clothes, as well.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

School starts at 7:30 AM, and I go home at 1:30 PM.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

My dad takes me to school. I'm not old enough to go by myself.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

I eat lunch at home. My favorite food is fries with cheese powder.

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

We speak English and Tagalog.
