Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

Ireland is not a huge country, but I did make it up to Northern Ireland to see the Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede and Belfast this week. It took three hours to get to Giant's Causeway from Dublin. It was a journey of about 165 miles.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

Two days after I arrived in Dublin, my group went to Florence, Italy as part of our program to study European Politics and Labor Relations. We spoke with political experts and labor academics, or people who study labor professionally. We also went and saw the Leaning Tower of Pisa!

How did I get around this week?:

I mostly took buses and taxis, and I did a lot of walking.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

I loved Carrick-a-Rede, the bridge connecting mainland Northern Ireland to a really tiny island. I got to sit on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean!

Other Travel News from this week:

I also attended an International Labor Organization Conference. I had the opportunity to see labor union leaders, employers, and even the Irish President, Michael D. Higgins, whose nickname is Mickey D! One of my professors here in Dublin (and even a professor from Cornell, my home school) presented at the conference.
