The Irish Gaelic word for farewell is "slán," pronounced "slown," which means "safe," as in "be safe!"

As the saying goes, time flies when you are having fun, and my semester in Dublin has been such an interesting and enriching experience. Living and studying in Dublin has taught me so much about Ireland, Europe, and the world. When I was in elementary and middle school I dreamed of going to Europe, and now I am living that dream.

In my classes, I have learned so much about the similarities and differences between the U.S. and Europe. What unites us is that we are all human, and we all have rich histories and cultures that make where we live unique. Most of my courses are about understanding businesses and governments, how they work together and why they do what they do. I also get to learn about what workers do and how they are treated by businesses and governments. From this, I better understand how our world works and how we can all make it better. It is important that we get to know cultures and countries different from our own so that we can promote peace and make decisions that benefit the whole world.

Studying abroad is a great experience to learn about the world and yourself.
