What main languages are spoken here?:

English and Irish Gaelic. All public signs here include both English and Irish Gaelic. The Irish Language Act made it so that both Irish and English would be treated as equals. Here, students must learn Irish in school, which is one way that the government is trying to keep the language alive.

What type of money is used here?:

People in the Republic of Ireland use the euro, which is used in most European countries. People in Northern Ireland use the British pound.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A typical bottle of water costs 1-1.50 euros.Right now, one U.S. dollar is equal to about 0.91 euro, so 1.50 euro is equal to about $1.64.

What was the best meal this week?:

I had a wonderful meal of salmon, rice, vegetables and apple strudel at the International Labor Conference I went to on Tuesday.

What music did I listen to this week?:

I heard live traditional Irish music at a restuarant and on the street. This type of music consists of tin whistles, accordions, guitars, fiddles and drums. My university even offers tin whistle classes! Additionally, a lot of music from before 2015 is played here, and I rarely ever hear anything that was produced in 2019.
