India: Getting Around

That is like being able to travel from New York City to Baltimore for only four dollars!

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

My favorite way of getting around in India is by motorcycle. In addition to having options to book cabs, India's transportation apps like Uber also include an option to book auto-rickshaws and motorcycles! This makes taking a motorcycle more affordable than booking a cab and faster than taking a bus. I enjoy taking motorcycles because I don't have to look out a window to see everything that's going on and because a motorcycle can often move through traffic faster than a car can.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

Even today, the majority of Indians do not own cars. In fact, many people in both rural and urban settings still rely on walking and cycling to get around. Bicycles and motorcycles are much cheaper than cars, and it is easier to maneuver them in very crowded streets. While not directly related to the environment, motorcycles are a symbol of transportation and culture for India's middle class.
