Let's Metro Around Madrid

Although Madrid’s transport system is accessible, getting used to it has been difficult for me. For example, when I get into my car, the GPS says it will take 20 minutes. However, with public transportation, I need to realize that it will take 45-50 minutes to get to the same place because I’m not the one in control of the transportation. On the bright side, by using Madrid’s amazing transportation system, I don’t have to worry about the parking (or parking fees) that come with driving your own car in the city.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

With 6.5 million people trying to get around, I feel that this way of getting around is closely connected to the environment. This is because we want to take care of Earth.  Imagine if all those people used cars! There would be so much traffic that you wouldn’t be able to get anywhere, and there would be so much pollution. When people use public transportation, the amount of city traffic and pollution is cut back. Public transportation is also connected to Madrid’s culture because of the different zones you have access to! For example, you can go to Sol (Sun) Station and be in the center of Madrid, with all its stores, restaurants and activities. Or you can travel a little farther to Lavapies, and be surrounded by different cultures!
