Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

This week, I mainly stayed in Shinchon (the neighborhood that I live in). I did take a bus to another neighborhood in Seoul in order to apply for my visa. The bus ride was about an hour away from Shinchon.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

The furthest that I have travelled to so far is to a costal city, Gangneung-si. I went with my housemates, and it took us six hours driving. We explored the city, visited the beach and ate delicious food. Of course, my longest trip on this journey so far was from the U.S.A. to Korea -- an almost 6000 mile plane ride!

How did I get around this week?:

In Seoul, there are many things that are in walking distance. I mainly walk to wherever I need to go. If I need to travel to another part of Seoul, I usually take the subway or the bus. In Korea, I use a transportation card. I use this card every time I take public transportation like the subway or bus. It's really convenient. Also the subways are very clean, quiet and fast. The buses, however, are sometimes a little crazy; it can be a little bumpy! During rush hours, the subways and buses can be so packed that I can barely move. I try my best to avoid being cramped in the subway or buses.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

I went to an area of Seoul called Hapjeong.
