The United Nations in Nepal, along with Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (a community-based organization) and a local airline, has a plan to fly 100 tons of plastic and other trash out of the country for recycling. And then there’s what concerned individuals are doing. I went for one last trek this week and met a guide who is very concerned about plastic pollution. He and his client picked up trash as they went along the trail. Both individuals and big organizations will hopefully be able to clean up the water and land being affected by trash pollution in Nepal.
