What main languages are spoken here?:

German is spoken in Chemnitz. One very interesting thing about Germany is that even though it is a very small country in comparison to the United States, the regional dialects are very strong. Chemnitz is in a state called Saxony. Here, they have a very interesting dialect called Sächsisch. Many in Germany would say that it is one of the strangest dialects, but I think it is so funny (in a good way). Even though I speak German fluently, the dialect is so strong that when I talk to someone with a particularly strong dialect, I really have to make sure I am paying attention. In the bigger cities of Saxony (Dresden and Leipzig), you hear the dialect but it is not so apparent. That is because those cities have many people who have moved there from other parts of Germany. However, in Chemnitz, many people have lived here their whole lives, so the dialect is much stronger.

What type of money is used here?:

In Germany, they use the Euro, which is the official money of the European Union, a union of 28 European countries who decide to work together towards common goals. It is not a requirement in the EU to use the Euro, but Germany is one of the countries that uses it.
