Chemnitz, Germany has just experienced a heat wave! When I arrived in Chemnitz, the weather was unusually hot and sunny. Even as a southerner, I started to get a bit annoyed by the sun always shining directly in my window in the morning and waking me up! My school even had a special Kurzplan (or short schedule), because the weather was so warm. Instead of getting out of school around two or three pm, students got out around noon in order to avoid going home at the hottest part of the day. I found this funny because the warmest it got here was 85 degrees, which, for me, is not hot at all.
Luckily, things have since cooled down. Over the weekend, it rained and got windy. After the rain passed, the cold snap began. I like this because it means I get to wear sweaters and scarves.
