This week, I traveled to Berlin, the capital of Germany. Berlin is approximately 174 miles from Chemnitz (three and a half hours on a bus).
So far, I traveled 4,741 miles from Atlanta to Chemnitz.
I traveled within Chemnitz by tram, to Dresden and Leipzig by train and to Berlin by bus.
The most interesting place I visited this week was Dresden. It is a big city, and I am definitely a big city person. Nearly the whole city was destroyed in the Second World War, but they have re-build the historic city center to look like it did before the war. There are lots of very grand buildings that I hope to explore more the next time I am in Dresden.
So far, I have only travelled within Germany and am looking forward to exploring more places within the country as well as within Europe. Next week, we have our fall holiday break. During these two weeks, I will travel to Sweden, France and Finland. I will be sure to take many photos and write down my stories to share with you all!
