This week, I began to read Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, a Russian author. It is considered a classic novel by many and I'm looking forward to reading more.
This week, I went bouldering in Leipzig. Bouldering is like rock climbing but without any ropes. However, you don't go very high off the ground. Usually, the highest I go is about eight feet. Bouldering and climbing are very popular sports in Germany. There is indoor bouldering and climbing (which is the only type I have done so far), and outdoor bouldering and climbing on real rocks. Right now, I am too afraid to try the outdoor type, but maybe I can get there one day!
I taught my first lesson with the 10th graders at my school this week. At the end of their school year, they have to take a big test to graduate from the Realschule (more on this in a later post). Part of their test is to have a dialogue in English, so we practiced dialogue skills. I was impressed by their effort on the assignment!
