English is the main language spoken in New Zealand. Māori and New Zealand sign language are also official languages in New Zealand. Many place names are in Māori, a language spoken by the Māori people, or the indigenous Polynesian people of New Zealand.
New Zealand uses coins and paper (with plastic parts) bills in the currency of New Zealand Dollars (NZD). The smallest coin is a 10 cent coin, so every price is rounded up if more than 5 cents and rounded down if it is less than 5 cents. The other coins are worth 20 cents, 50 cents, one dollar, and two dollars. There are 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 dollar bills. The bills are made of paper mixed with plastic parts, and the bills are different colors.
Most people bring re-usable waterbottles and fill them up at water stations. If you really want to buy a bottle of water, it usually costs around 2 New Zealand Dollars.
In order to get to know each other better, I had afternoon tea with my friends! I got a vanilla plum flavored cupcake with Chai latte. I enjoyed the sweets and had a great time talking to my friends!
