Aside from my familiarity with both Wellington's windy weather and its cafe culture, I wanted to learn more about the city's history. My visit to the Wellington Museum has opened my eyes, teaching me about the city's vibrant culture and history.
Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand in terms of population but Wellington is the capital. The geographic location of Wellington at the southern point of the North Island serves as a good bridge between the North Island and South Island. Specifically, its fine natural harbor made Wellington stand out as the candidate for being the capital city.
