Kia Ora, hello! Thank you for following my journey for all of these weeks.

I am so grateful to have been able to study abroad in New Zealand. There are so many memories I have built through the small moments of my daily life in Wellington. Through this experience, I have grown to become the global citizen I had always hoped I would. In NZ, I have learned about the culture and people of this country through hearing personal stories, exploring the natural world and visiting festivals.

Before coming to New Zealand, I didn't know much about this country. Often my friends think New Zealand is super close to Australia and that you can simply hop on over from one country to the other. In reality, Australia is a 3 hour flight  from New Zealand!  Also, New Zealand has a distinct culture. The country is characterized by friendly people, beautiful natural landscapes and a rich indigenous Maori way of life. I am constantly amazed by my surroundings and the community in Wellington. I know my friends would be too, if they were ever able to make it out here!

My favorite hike was on Stewart Island, which lies at the far southern tip of NZ, and is a place not so many travelers usually go. My favorite assignment was making the flax fishnet.
