What main languages are spoken here?:

Morocco has many langauges. There is Moroccan Arabic, called Darija, which is spoken by most of the population. Moroccan Arabic, or Darija, is a dialect of Modern Standard Arabic. Modern Standard Arabic is used in all Middle Eastern countries for writing and official announcements. Each country has its own unique dialect of Arabic. Morocco's dialect is Darija. There is also Amazigh, which is a language that existed in Morocco before Arabic came to the country. It is spoken by many tribes in the south of Morocco. French is also common in Morocco because the French colonized Morocco in 1912. Morocco become independent in 1956, but French still exists in Morocco today. Spanish is also common in the north of Morocco because it is very close to Spain and people travel between the countries often.

What type of money is used here?:

The dirham is the currency of Morocco. There is also a second currency called riyal, but it is not used very often. Dirham bills come in increments of 200, 100, 50, and 20. There are coins in the amount of 10, 5, 2, 1 and a half. 

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A bottle of water costs 3 dirhams which is about 30 cents.

What was the best meal this week?:

The best meal of the week was couscous, which is the national dish of Morocco!
