Since I am a vegetarian, I get the falafel döner, but that is not a problem because the falafel is so fresh and tasty.
German pretzels are made with flour, water, salt, butter and yeast. These ingredients are kneaded heavily into a delicious dough. Each piece of dough is rolled into a thin, long piece, and then twisted into the shape of a pretzel. What makes German pretzels different from American pretzels is that, after the pretzel is formed, it is dipped into a baking soda or lye solution. When baked, the bathed crust turns a golden brown color and is very flavorful. After baking, the pretzel is lightly dusted with salt. Then, it is ready to be served!
A falafel döner kebab is made by stuffing a piece of bread, or brot, with falafel and various vegetables. A falafel is usually a round ball of ground chickpeas and spices, perfect for a vegetarian diet. The vegetables that are usually included in the dōner are lettuce (in German, Lattich), onion (Zwiebel), cabbage (Kohl), and tomato (Tomaten). The dōner is then topped with either a garlic sauce or a spicy sauce and a hint of lemon. The same toppings are used even if the filling (beef, chicken, falafel or halloumi cheese) is different. The way I order a döner in German is "Ich hätte gern einen Döner mit Falafel, bitte" or "I would like a döner with falafel, please."
