Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

After making the short one hour flight back from Salzburg to Berlin last Monday, I've only travelled around different parts of Berlin. There are 12 famous districts in Berlin, each of which has its own characteristics and charm. I live in Kreuzberg, the heart of the city, so it's easy to travel in any direction to discover something new. This week, I explored the northern part of the city where you can find different parks, art galleries and shopping.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

So far, I have been to nine other major cities in five countries in Europe. My favorite country has definitely been Italy, which is directly south of Germany but separated from it by Switzerland and Austria. Whether in the northern Italian Alps or the southern Mediterranean Sea, there is awesome weather and beautiful landscapes. I'm really looking forward to visiting the countries I've planned to go to next, such as Morocco and Portugal!

How did I get around this week?:

Getting around in Berlin is super easy with its underground system called the U-Bahn, short for the Untergrundbahn, or underground train. There's also the S-Bahn (above-ground train), the tram and a bus system. I'm thankful for such an extensive transportation system because Berlin is huge, almost as big as Kentucky's largest city, Louisville!
