I took about an hour and we got a ride from someone going up the road about halfway through. The path was full of the tropical plants and flowers and more butterflies than I have ever seen in my life. Once we got there, we got to go swimming in the water and explore some of the rocks underneath it.
Oxapampa was a town founded by German immigrants in the early 19th century. The town has some noticeable German architecture, and many of the farmers there are descendants from these original emigrants. We got to visit one of these farms and see a lot of the stuff they brought with them from Germany and learn about how they adjusted to new local environment, and how they still live today.
