I did not do much traveling outside of Sydney or its neighboring suburbs. Like on the average week, I spent most of the week traveling between my apartment and Campersdown, roughly 5.5km (3.42 mi). From there, I often go on small adventures to places such as Circular Quay, near the Sydney Opera House, which is about 6.7 km (~4 mi). Finally, took a ferry to "Manly Beach" in Northern Sydney (17km/10mi).
The farthest I have traveled on this journey has been my flight from Houston, Texas, to Sydney, which also had a layover in Auckland, New Zealand. The flight covered roughly 8,600 miles or a little under 14,000 kilometers. These flights totaled nearly 17 hours of travel time!
I mostly take the bus, trains and light rails to move around the city throughout the week. Sydney has an amazing public transportation system, so it is so easy to get around throughout the city. In order to ride the buses, trains, metro and light rails, I have to tap on and off using my phone, debit card or Opal transport car.
