I traveled 60.9 kilometers this week. That is the distance between my dorm in Labone and Shai Hills Resource Reserve: a wildlife and cultural park. It took an hour and 30 minutes by bus to get there.
The furthest place I've traveled to so far has been Kakum National Park, which I talked about in my food field note. A close second was Elmina Castle. It was a very emotional experience for me to be there, as Elmina Castle used to be a slave dungeon, and our tour guide explained the horrid conditions in depth.
I got around on foot, car, bus, and motorcycle. I rode on the back of a motorcycle for the first time in my life this week! It was only to the ATM, which was literally a minute away, and the motorcycle was going super slow, but it was still a cute experience.
I'd say Shai Hills. It was interesting to see bamboos crossing the streets and roaming around peacefully. It was very clear that in that space, they are the citizens and we are the visitors.
