Transportation: How To Get Where You're Going!

Introduction:

I am from the suburbs of the San Francisco Bay Area where everything is so spread out that you have to own a car. But now that I am living in the capital of Morocco, the transportation methods are completely different from what I am used to. These methods are fun and exhilarating to me because I have never seen anything like it, and it's fun to compare them to what I have seen for transportation methods in the rural communities in Morocco.

How do people get around?:

Here, in the capital of Morocco, people get around very much like they would in any major city. The transportation includes taking a car, taxis, scooters, tram or just walking. Rabat is a major city and like every major city, there is a lot of traffic here.

The traffic is different here in Morocco because drivers do not always oby the various traffic laws as people do in the United States. Often you will see drivers driving on the other side of the road to get ahead!

The main mode of transportation for locals is scooters or taxis. The parking here is really horrible so to circumvent having to park, locals choose to ride in taxis or scooters. The taxi drivers here are some of the best drivers that I have ever seen, weaving in and out of traffic to get you to and from your desired location.
