Meet My Host Sister, Rebeca!

We ate dinner at 10 o' clock at night.

What is your house like?:

My parents built my house before I was born. I love it, especially the part of the kitchen where I have a cafe. I have my own room, but usually I just play there with my friends. I sleep in my mom's room. The downstairs is one big open space. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

What chores do you have at home?:

I don't really have chores, but every so often I do have to pick up my toys.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My mom is a nutritionist at a public clinic. My dad is a military policeman.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

School starts at 7:30 in the morning. We have a break and a snack at about 9:30, and then some more classes. I finish school at 11:45 and my mom picks me up. We go to eat lunch at home or at my avó's (grandma's) house.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

I can't go to school by myself because I'm only eight. My mom drives me to school every morning and then goes to work.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

I eat lunch at home or at my grandma's house. I really like lunches with pasta. My grandpa cooks lunch during the week because my grandma is a teacher. She works at school until lunchtime and then comes home for lunch. We all eat together, and then she goes back to school. I love eating the pasta my grandpa makes!

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

We speak Portuguese at my school.
