Chew Carefully with this Delicious Treat!

How is the food prepared?:

Sam told me that this dessert is made of dough, vanilla, almonds, eggs and frangipane. A quick search on Google describes the dish as being prepared similarly to a normal cake. The major differences between the two is the method of making the dough (which is cut to give it a spiral, pancake shape) and the method of making the creme from scratch to give it a rich taste. After this preparation, the cake is inserted into the oven for thirty minutes.

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Yes! Galette des Rois is popular to eat on New Year's day in France and at formal or informal gatherings. A small trinket is placed within the cake. The cake is usually cut into twelve slices. If a person finds a trinket within their slice, he or she is announced to be king or queen. When all the trinkets are found, the kings and queens dance in their places to celebrate the moment!
