What main languages are spoken here?:

The main language in Jakarta is Bahasa Indonesia, but some people who have moved to Jakarta from smaller villages also speak a local dialect. 

What type of money is used here?:

Rupiah is the currency used in Jakarta.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

Every place is different but usually, a bottle of water costs 10,000 rupiah which is about 70 U.S. cents. 

What was the best meal this week?:

I love Indonesia food but when I'm in Jakarta, I usually eat food from other countries because it's widely available. On Wednesday, I had burritos for dinner, and they were so delicious.

What music did I listen to this week?:

My friend's favorite Korean band is called SHINee so we have been singing and dancing to that this week. 

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The most fun activity was the Storytelling competition in Jakarta. The theme of the competition was "The Future of Indonesia," so every student wrote a story about what we need to do in order to make the future of Indonesia better. Some stories were about pollution, and other stories were about body shaming or a lack of acceptance of minorities. It was all very powerful.

I am currently reading Educated by Tara Westover.
