I arrived in Indonesia ten months ago. I was scared, tired and confused. I had been awake for 40 hours, and I was the farthest that I had ever been from my home. However, as soon as I met people in my community, none of my worries seemed to matter anymore.

For the past few weeks, I have shared my experience with you all. I hope you have learned that although Indonesia is very far away from the United States, there are still so many similarities between the people here and the people back home. Thank you for being part of my journey here.

For the past ten months, my days have continued to be filled with love and happiness. I have learned so much about Indonesia culture and language. Everyone here has been so kind to me even when I made mistakes. This year has changed my life. My friends in Indonesia have shown me that love and friendship know no borders. They have shown me what good people look like. They have made me laugh, they have made me cry, and most importantly, they have made me feel loved. They have given me the world, and I will spend the rest of my life trying to explain this wonderful country and these wonderful people to my community back home. I came to Indonesia knowing so little.
