This week, I traveled to my school in Bornheim, Germany, which is about a 30-minute bus ride from Bonn. I also traveled to Liège, Belgium, which was very exciting because it was my first time visiting Belgium. Liège is about 142 kilometers (around 88 miles) from Bonn.
So far, I’ve traveled to Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and the United Kingdom. I’ve also visited many cities around Germany, including Berlin, Munich, Cologne and Frankfurt, as well as smaller towns with beautiful nature and castles. I’ve traveled a lot since being here, and I love getting to see so much of Europe.
I mostly walked and used public transportation like trains and buses. Getting around Germany is very easy because public transportation is clean and widely used. It can take you almost anywhere, just not always on time.
The most interesting place I visited was the Montagne de Bueren in Liège. It’s a long staircase with 374 steps that leads up from the city to higher ground. The climb was challenging, but at the top there were great views of the city and a calm, peaceful feeling that made it worth it.
