Taking Subways, Planes and Buses and Simply Walking

Ubers are less commonly used here, but they are still an option. I have not traveled to a nearby city yet but there are trains that can do that. For example, I looked at the cost to go to Santiago de Compostela, and it was only 9 euro.

Walking is another great way to get around. According to my Apple Watch, I spend most of my time breaking walking records! I promise you that I am not even trying. Sometimes a bus ride will take the same amount of time that it would to walk there. Stores and coffee shops are also nearby so a fun day doesn't have to be miles away! I normally walk to the center of the city which is about a 25-minute walk. Almost everyone walks to places they want to go. Most people do not own a vehicle.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

Since arriving here, I have gotten on buses, taken a taxi, and walked to get around the city. I have found that taxis are a luxury. I only get in a taxi when I do not know how to get home or it is really late at night. I catch a bus to go to campus every morning. My schedule revolves around when the bus arrives. I use the app which gives me an estimate time of arrival for my bus. I ordered a bus pass which gives me a discount rate, and I can recharge it. I walk almost every time I go out. This includes going to the grocery store, out to eat, and to church. Back home, I had a car and I drove myself everywhere. I thought that public transportation would be difficult to get used to, but I am enjoying it so far. I feel healthier now that I walk everywhere.
