Spanish Cafeterias

This food item is common in South America and I've had it in Mexico as well. The seasoning is different though so it tasted differently.

In Madrid, I had pasta with pepperoni that was baked in the oven. Near the shore of the Samil's beach, I ate spaghetti tuna. Yes, you read that correctly. It was spaghetti with a tomato sauce and chucks of tuna.

The other day, I ate at a seafood restaurant and I tried the famous dish of Galicia, pulpo a la gallega. Pulpo a la gallega is a dish of boiled and chopped octopus tentacles that are seasoned with a bit of olive oil and chili powder.

Lentejas con chorizo is lentil soup that is sautéed with chorizo. The dish was served as the first dish of my meal. I had it at the school cafeteria and it is one of the best dishes I've tasted.  My second dish was a set of chicken fajita burritos. The fajita burritos were more like the ones that I've had in Mexico, but they were not covered in cheese dip.

A tapa is not one particular dish. The term tapa refers to a small appetizer that is usually offered for free when you order a drink at eateries. Some of the tapas that I've tried include roasted green peppers in vinegar, cream cheese balls with crispy pork bits, boiled mussels, baked chicken wings, little cheese sandwiches, and olives. I have not paid for tapas and I have eaten tapas at places that do not offer them complementary.

How did I feel when I tried it?:

In the beginning, I was excited to try new food.
