If there's one thing I hope you take away from our time together, it's this: the world is huge and full of surprises. It's okay to feel nervous about trying something new, but stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to the most incredible memories.
Thanks to the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, the Freeman-Asia Award, and help from my university, I was able to come here even though I don't have a lot of money. These are special scholarships that help college students study abroad, and you can apply for them someday too! They help make dreams come true.

You're heading off to middle school—how exciting! I hope you stay curious and brave, and that one day, you'll travel to a new country and make your own amazing memories.
