This week, I traveled quite a bit, visiting Cologne, Germany, which is approximately 121 miles from Mannheim and takes around four hours to reach by regional train. I also traveled to Hausach, about 101 miles away, which takes roughly four hours by train as well. Additionally, I visited Frankfurt, which is much closer at around 44 miles, or about an hour away. When adding up all the travel time for these trips, including the journeys there and back, I spent a total of approximately 18 hours traveling by train this week, covering over 286 miles.
Since arriving in Germany, I have traveled quite a bit around the region, visiting Cologne (121 miles from Mannheim), Munich (170 miles), Speyer (15 miles), Frankfurt (44 miles), Stuttgart (60 miles), Hausach (101 miles) and many more places. Each destination has its own unique culture and specialties. Frankfurt is a popular spot for shopping and exploring, while I visited Munich for Oktoberfest and hiking and Speyer for a music festival. I also traveled to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, about 300 miles from Mannheim, where I enjoyed the beautiful city and amazing food. One of my favorite treats was a stroopwafel with Nutella, which was absolutely delicious.
