Setswana and are spoken here. Setswana is the national language of Botswana, with over 2 million speakers, while Sembukushu is a regional language spoken in the Delta region, with fewer than 100,000 speakers.

What was the best meal this week?:

The best meal I had this week was fried bream! It’s a white fish similar to tilapia, caught right in the river next to my house. I also had some tswii, which is the root of a lily-pad!

What music did I listen to this week?:

I’ve been listening to a lot of folk and country music this week because it reminds me of home. The popular music here is called "amapiano," which originated in South Africa and makes for great dance music!

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The most fun activity I attended this week was the prize-giving ceremony at the primary school. This is similar to graduating from elementary school and moving on to middle school. There were lots of speeches, dances and prizes given out to the children.
