I love grilled, calamari-ed or any other form of octopus, and this dish is next level. Alone, it would be perfect, but Vietnamese people always eat seafood with a green chili sauce that you dip the meat in before eating, which adds even more to the taste. This will certainly be the restaurant that I will take any visitors to first.

What music did I listen to this week?:

I listened to two very different kinds of music this week, and both have a reason why. The first is a Japanese song called “Sunny” from the anime Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. I have never watched this anime. The reason for this is that every week, the school has an assembly where a club or class from the school hosts an event to present to the entire student and teacher body. This upcoming Monday, one of my English classes is hosting a presentation to celebrate Vietnamese Women’s Day, which is on October 20th. One of the students asked me to sing this song with him in front of the entire school as the opening act. Of course, I said yes, and so I have been practicing all week long. This is just an example of the many things that I have done in Vietnam that I never expected to have to do when I was still imagining what it might be like. But it is also an experience that I will surely remember for a very long time. I will send a video to your teacher for you all to enjoy as well.

The second type of music that I have listened to much more regularly is American music, specifically folk and acoustic. This is because I have learned that listening to music and other solitary activities are excellent ways to feel at home when living in a completely new place for such a long time.
